CONGRATULATIONS

Our breast cancer awareness month has come to end. We are pleased to announce that we have raised almost $300 for the cause. We want to thank everyone who donated.
New patients were able to get their new patient visit with their donation. Existing patients donated over and over again, throughout the month, out of the kindness of their hearts. We gave away lots of little pink freebie gifts, including pink rubber ducks, pink pens, pink notepads, and lots of pink ribbon candy.

Yesterday morning a winner was drawn! Congratulations to Jennifer P. We're not so sure if her hubby will be super crazy over all the PINK goodies in the basket, but we now that Jennifer and daughter Victoria will sure love it all!

Thanks again to everyone who made cash donations and entered to win, and a big thank you to all the donated items for the basket. Lots of shops on etsy.com participated and it was a fun event for all.

Congrats again Jennifer.

Now we are ready to move on to our next project. We will be collecting canned goods, gift certificates, food, desserts, etc as well as new unwrapped childrens toys to help the Metropolitan Ministries thru mid Dec. Stay tuned for more info on this!

Once a Chiro Patient Always a Chiro Patient?

Have you ever heard someone make this statement about chiropractic care? For instance, "I have some neck and back trouble, but I dont want to go to the chiropractor because once you start going, they keep you coming back".

Lets look at it this way, when you were a child and you had a toothache, were your parents afraid to take you to the dentist because..........once a dental patient, always a dental patient?

When a person begins treatment with a chiropractor, it is true that he or she is typically asked to return for multiple visits in the beginning phase of care and this is for a good reason. Your bones are used to being out of alignment. This misaligned position is as much a habit as having a cup of coffee every morning.

Some people, especially those who dont exercise regularly, are bound to have problems requiring chiropractic care. And some people actually have their first subluxation or spinal misalignment at birth due to required forceful methods of delivery. As an infant, the child could have chronic sinus infections, ear infections, digestive problems, colic, bed wetting, etc. That type of person will require some chiropractic care, even if its only 4 times per year for maintenance. Without proper chiropractic care, they are bound for chronic health problems of one type or another.

Lets go back to the dentist for a moment................if you ignore your teeth, by not brushing flossing and practicing good dental hygiene then you will lose your teeth. The same holds true for chiropractic health. If you ignore your spinal health, you are bound to have health problems.

So, once a chiropractic patient, always a chiropractic patient is a very cheerfully TRUE statement. We all need to work on our health. Chiropractic is such an effective way to reduce stress. Patients often choose to use chiro as a form of preventative care.

HERES TO YOUR HEALTH!!!

Chiropractic Approach to Sciatica

The Sciatic nerves are the largest and longest nerves of the body, reaching about the size of your thumb in diameter and running down the back of each leg.

Have you or someone you know ever have sciatica? One of the most common causes of sciatica is Vertebral Subluxation Complex. It can be accompanied by the bulging or herniation of the discs which seperate each spinal bone. This can put pressure on the sciatic nerve roots as they leave the spinal cord. And anyone who has had sciatica knows that the result can be intense pain shooting down either or both legs.

In the past, treatment for this has involved pain medications, muscle relaxers, physical therapy and/or surgery. The chiropractic approach is to use carefully directed and controlled pressure to remove the interference from spinal structures............These chiropractic adjustments can be quite effective in reducing nerve irritation and its associated pain.

Sciatica, like other health problems that can be traced to the spine, often respond dramatically to the restoration of normal spinal function through conservative chiropractic care.

Dr. Parker has helped many patients with this problem and he'd love to help you too!!!! Be sure to call this month for our breast cancer awareness donation NEW PATIENT appointment. Your $20 donation will get you a consult with the dr, a chiro exam, 1st treatment and all necessary xrays. Best deal in town and your donation goes for a cure

A CHIRO SUCCESS STORY!!!!

Chiropractic Success Story

by Tanya M....................

I have been visiting a chiropractor for over 20 years. When I was 18 I had the first of 3 car accidents within 4 years (no seat belt) and had whiplash, intense neck and back pain as a result. I have also experienced much TMJ pain and many migraine headaches throughout my 20s and 30s. I am a computer programmer so I am working on a computer over 30 hours per week, plus taking care of my 6- and 3-year-old children.

I have seen a much bigger improvement in the past 6 months after seeing Dr. Parker. In large part, I attribute this to the posture program that he initiated, along with short-term increased visits. My jaw pain has decreased significantly (from pain 2-3 days a week, down to pain 2-3 days a month). I also experience dramatically fewer headaches, less neck strain, and a feeling of improved posture where before I was frustrated about my rounded shoulders and inability to improve posture on my own.

I try to take care of myself, stay in shape, and have worked on learning how to manage stress and other relaxation techniques. But Dr. Parker provided the missing piece that I needed…working on the physical problems that kept me in pain.

Thank you so much!! My quality of life is improved, I am no longer in “chronic pain” and I am SO grateful. Now if we could just get some of my family members in here …

Since this writing, Tanya's sister and mother have both become patients at our clinic. We are happy to report that everyone is doing well!

How Does Stress Affect YOU?

Stress has been with us since the beginning of time. Today, the stress of work, personal conflicts, family and the demands on time and money, take a tremendous toll on our health. It might surprise you that your feelings of stress might have nothing to do with the actual stress in your life. Poor posture, prolonged sitting, an old injury or an accident can lead to spinal stress. Muscle tension and chronic pain can cause nervousness and irritability.

For some people, it's an upset stomach. Others may experience muscle stiffness, recurring headaches or back pain. Some may respond with nervous twitches or allergic reactions. Regardless of your particular response, the function of your nervous system is involved. Chiropractic care can be so helpful for this.

The Chiropractic approach to stress is to help normalize the function of your nervous system by removing interferences caused by the Vertebral Subluxation Complex or spinal joint dysfunction. Finding the "weak links" in your spine, which is the major communication path of your nervous system, will help restore better function and can make a huge difference in your response to stress.

It may not be possible to remove the stress from your busy life, but with Dr Parker's help you can certainly respond better to the challenges you face each day

For the rest of this month, a New Patient visit is reduced to ONLY $60..........this will include doctor consult, exam, xrays, report of findings and your first treatment. This is a $210 value so hurry in and take advantage. Current patients, I am sure, know of someone (family member, co-worker, friend) who could benefit from chiropractic care. At this price, who can afford to NOT take care of their health! Call today for more information or to make an appt. 813-254-5200

Referrals

Your referrals are our biggest compliment! It means that you are doing so well in our office, working on your health and feeling great that you want to pass on the love to others, your friends and family Dr. Parker not only wants to help you feel better, pain free, etc, he wants to FIX your problem. If you are a current patient, why not refer one of your friends to our office. We promise to be as nice to him/her as we are to you!!!!!

Some of our patients are what we call "regular referral patients". As regulars, they have referred not just ONE, but many new patients to our office. Jan has referred three or four of her friends AND her husband to our office. Lindsay has also referred three new patients as well as a very special "friend" of hers named Rico! Thanks Jan and Lindsay!

Then there are those patients whom we thank for trusting us in the care of their children. Mary Ellen, Margaret, Tracy, Tanya, Cara and Ann, just to name a few, have all either referred their sons/daughters to our clinic or brought them in along with them for their appts and Dr. Parker has been happy to take care of them and put them in our system as new patients. Children respond really well here.

Remember, your referral is our biggest compliment!!!

A GREAT BIG WELCOME TO SARA

We are open for massage therapy on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. As always, April will be here on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but we've added a NEW massage day. On Mondays Sara will be here. Appts can be booked from 9am - 11:30 and 3:00-5:30 Monday, Wednesday or Thursday. The fee for massage is $40 for a 1/2 hour, $70 for an hour. Many insurance companies will cover massage therapy. Please call for more info @ 813-254-5200.

We want to welcome Sara to the office. Sara has currently been doing "out in the field" massage work for us, chair massages at school and business events, but has only been "in office" a few times. She is new to the in office staff, but definitely not new to massage. Think about booking a monday appointment to meet with her.

Additionally, we do lots of chair massage events, so if you think this is something your school and/or business would be interested in, we'd definitely love to talk to you about that. Our massage therapist comes to your location with a massage chair and all necessary supplies to offer 5-15 min massages to your staff/employees. This is all a complimentary service that Dr. Parker offers as part of a community outreach program. Call Tina for more information and we can book your office or school ASAP!!

Once again, welcome SARA to the office!!!

Operation DVD for the Troops

For the month of August our office, Advanced Chiropractic was participating in Operation DVD. By popular demand, we have extended this program through the month of September. Do you have a friend or family member who could use chiropractic care? Or maybe you are having headaches, back pain, leg pain, etc. Dr Parker can help. And to make it affordable this month, for TWO new or used DVDs we are offering your first new patient appt including all necessary xrays for FREE. DVD's can be movies or even childrens films.

Operation DVD sorts them out and the children movies go to families who have a deployed parent and the others go overseas for the troops. This helps keep their mind occupied and also helps somewhat with the loneliness they are enduring while apart from their families. Its a great program as well as a great opportunity for you or someone you love to begin chiropractic care.
Heres to your health. We hope to see you soon

Here's To Our First Year!!!!

Advanced Chiropractic turned 1 year old this past month. Dr. Parker, April and I would like to thank all of our dedicated patients. As most of you know, we've had quite a few changes, as far as construction, programs, parties, and fun! But all in all, its about your health. Dr. Parker is helping us to stay healthy one patient at a time.

For our birthday month, the gifts were not for us, but for the patients. Each current patient had a chance to "win a gift" this month, simply by coming to their appt. We presented lots of birthday gifts to some of our very lucky patients. All gifts were donated by members of etsy.com and were all handmade: Everything from jewelry to soap to tote bags and more. Congratulations to all our winners!

Stay tuned for our August fun! You won't want to miss out. We'll be offering savings to you, a friend or family member whom you'd like to receive care AND our military troops overseas.
